Essex Farm Shop Scoops Award For Third Time

  • An Essex farm shop is celebrating after winning Best Farm Shop in the annual Essex Food & Drink Awards for the third year running

Calcott Hall Farm Shop was awarded the title whilst also celebrating its 35th anniversary. Peter McTurk, owner of the store comments on the win. “This is a tremendous achievement for the family and the whole team at Calcott Hall Farm Shop.

“We are passionate about providing our customers with the freshest, best quality and locally sourced produce and have spent many years building up the business to what it is today. Receiving this award for the third time is brilliant.”

The awards dinner was held on Monday 3th October at Braxted Park in Great Braxted.m Anne Pocock, organiser of the awards, said, “This is a wonderful achievement for Calcott Hall Farm Shop and one that is thoroughly deserved. There was tough competition in this section but the judges were impressed with Calcott’s passion for selling fresh, local products and also the quality of the food it sells.

“Being voted best farm shop three times is also testament to the commitment of the McTurk family.”

There were 13 awards categories in total and included Essex Baker of the Year, Best Small Restaurant, Best Newcomer Restaurant, Best Essex Drink product. Nominations came from the public with people voting for their favourite farm shop, restaurant, pub, etc.
