The ground floor of the refurbished antiques auction house is a bustling, atmospheric farm shop, which is open seven days a week and on certain late nights for busy workers. Upstairs in the store there is a contemporary café by day and restaurant by night. Both offer local produce, ranging from delicate cream teas to rustic British fare in the evenings.
Jason Hurwitz, owner of the shop, said, “Our philosophy is simple – great food comes from bringing the right, fresh ingredients together in the right way and our suppliers are superb, ranged from across the beautiful county of Sussex.
“We believe in quality and choice and we will be bringing the taste of every season into the city, so that local people can enjoy it when it’s absolutely fresh.”
Local Sussex suppliers include Stopham Vineyard, High Weald Dairy cheesemakers, Besmoke Garlic, Hepworth Brewery, Gran Stead’s Ginger, Flint Owl Bakery, Wobblegate apple juice and many more.
Tastings and competitions are on offer for people to enjoy, with food lovers invited to pop in to enter a prize draw to win a gourmet meal for six, cooked at the winner’s home by head chef Martin Keightley.
