They then unveiled a plaque and were presented with a posy by local school pupils as well as a hamper of local food produce from the Farm Shop.
Mary Quicke, managing director at Quickes said, “The Earl and Countess of Wessex clearly have a strong attachment to the South West and also a solid understanding of the issues faced by rural producers.
“The tour of the dairy was a great success and very relaxed – it was a wonderful experience to be able to introduce so many of the Quickes team and to showcase our marvellous cheese. The visit couldn’t have been better timed either – so closely following our recent success at the British Cheese Awards.
“Visits such as this one not only provide great exposure for local businesses, they also help to promote the principles that we adhere to and operate by.
“Farming is so crucial to our rural economy and it is therefore vitally important that the British Royal family continue to show their support for the people that maintain the land and preserve it for future generations.
