The Foodhall will play host to events including food tastings and cooking demonstrations, and the winning ‘Maker’ – to be chosen by public vote – will receive a six month mentoring programme from the team at Selfridges covering marketing and PR, branding, packaging and product development.
This year’s makers are Newton & Pott, Ban Poitin, Beri Da, Eat Chic, Canesmith & Co, The Marshmallowist, Cheeky Food Co, Brock & Morten, Grubworkz, Mons Cheeses, Might Bee, Moral Fibre and The Chocolatier.
Nathan Herrmann, Selfridges food and restaurants director said, “We have invested the last 6 months searching for the next ‘makers’ for 2015, we hosted a number of meet the buyer sessions to narrow down and discover the new artisan talent we are celebrating this season.
“We were genuinely surprised by the passion and hard work these small brands have put into their products and we are proud to support them with the Meet the Makers platform in store. Our customers are always looking for the next big thing and we feel we have certainly achieved this with our final selection.”
