  • Shopping online is no longer the preserve of consumer shoppers, Cotswold Fayre has discovered – instead, buyers within the fine food industry are rapidly catching up with the trend
The Evolution of Ordering Stock

A survey conducted by the distributor showed that six years ago 48 per cent of their customers didn’t even visit their web page let alone place orders for stock, but now 70 per cent are regularly visiting the site.

Paul Hargreaves, chief executive of Cotswold Fayre said, “We have continued to invest heavily to ensure that our web shop keeps up with mainstream trends. The latest change was integrating the site with our main system so customers see ‘live stock’ online.

“Since the relaunch of the web-shop we have seen a huge increase in orders being placed online. In fact, the number of online orders we receive is now 25% of total orders every week, in comparison to 5% last year.”

Alessandro Asara, store manager at Eat 17 and customer of Cotswold Fayre said, “I have been ordering from the Cotswold Fayre web shop for four months, and have moved completely away from placing telephone or email orders.

“The new site is easy to navigate and most importantly it saves a lot of time. Being able to see the products absolutely eliminates the possibility of me ordering the wrong product and the ‘live stock’ element means I do not have to wait for a member of staff to let me know what is in stock.”
