The winners from a record number of almost 300 entries are:

East Anglia

Midlands
Winner:      Ludlow Food Centre, Shropshire
Commended: Waterloo Cottage Farm, Great Oxendon, Market Harborough

North West
Winner:      Cranstons Cumbrian Food Hall, Penrith, Cumbria
Commended: Black Horse Food Emporium, Accrington, Lancashire

North East
Winner:      Keelham Farm Shop, Thornton, Bradford
Commended: Campbell’s of Leyburn, Richmond, North Yorkshire; Cross Lanes Organic Farm Ltd, Barnard Castle, Durham

Northern Ireland

Scotland

South East

South West
Winner:      Johns of Instow, Bideford, North Devon
Commended: Walter Rose and Son, Devizes, Wiltshire; Brown and Green, Newent, Gloucestershire; East Bristol Bakery, Bristol; Town Mill Cheesemonger, Lyme Regis, Dorset; Wing of St Mawes The Cornish Fishmonger, Truro, Cornwall

Wales
Winner:      Ultracomida, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion
Commended: Home & Colonial Fine Foods, Porthcawl, Bridgend

These nine Regional Winners will now go through to the final to win the coveted title of ‘Farm Shop & Deli Awards Retailer of the Year’. The overall winner will be announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show on Monday 24 March 2014 at Birmingham’s NEC.

Nigel Barden, chair of judges said, “Elaine Lemm and I have travelled the length of country, from Northern Ireland to Scotland and right down to the deep depths of the South West, visiting large and small independent speciality retailers to judge our ‘Regional Champions’. It makes me feel so proud to be British to see so many passionate individuals championing the best in fresh, local farm produce that this country has to offer. The dedication and knowledge of these local businesses is inspiring, and they are an asset to not only their region but for the UK as a whole.”
