Entries Open for Farm Shop & Deli Awards

The Awards recognise excellence within the speciality retail market, focusing on independent or multiple speciality retailers who sell regional fresh/farm produce or have a delicatessen counter.

There are 12 categories which retailers can enter – Farm Shop, Delicatessen, Baker, Butcher, Cheesemonger, Garden Centre, Greengrocer, Fishmonger, Food Hall, Online Business, Local Shop and Market.

Entrants will first be judged within their category. Once category winners have been agreed, judges will also choose a best regional winner.

Winners from the regional round will then have the chance to win the overall title of Retailer of the Year.

The overall winner will be announced at the Food & Drink Expo in March next year at Birmingham’s NEC.  

Each award will be judged on the many factors covering speciality retail including highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement.

The chair of judges, Nigel Barden, will be joined by leading speciality retailers and key industry figures to bring a wealth of knowledge to the judging process. 

The judging process will include mystery visits and public votes and the public will also have the opportunity to nominate their favourite retailer for the award.
