  • More than 200 customers flocked to a Derbyshire farm shop last week to meet children's TV character Shaun the Sheep

The sheep, who was in the area starring in Shaun’s Big Show at the local theatre, paid a special visit to Bluebells Farm Shop in Spondon, where he spent the morning greeting parents, children and the store’s staff.

The character also posed for press photographs with Bluebell the Cow, the farm shop’s mascot, and sampled a Basil, Mint and Parsley Sorbet that was specially made for the visit.

Rosemary Brown, owner, said, “Shaun the Sheep’s visit to Bluebells was perfect; there was a jolly atmosphere the whole day. Shaun made such an effort to meet all of our visitors and played games with the children. We would be thrilled to welcome Shaun the Sheep back to Bluebells and develop another exciting ice cream flavour just for him!”

The business incorporates a farm shop, café, tea room and a working dairy farm. It also produces its own range of homemade, premium ice cream.
