Amazon Promotes Small Producers

  • The online retailer has been selling food products for the past few years, and is now looking to sell artisan products from small UK producers as well as the brands readily available in supermarkets it already offers

Essex-based Farmfields Farm Crisps have made the decision to sell online with Amazon UK from September,  in order to extend its reach beyond independent food retailers such as delis and farm shops.

Robert Strathern, owner and founder of Fairfields Farm Crisps said, “Amazon is keen to work with small food and drink producers and we’re very excited to be working with them. It’s a whole new area for us and it will be interesting to see how our products fare online.

“I think this is a great opportunity for small food and drink businesses on the whole and it’s interesting that a company like Amazon is wanting to look to smaller producers to work with.

“Fairfields Farm Crisps will always be a brand for the independent food and drink trade and we remain dedicated to our hundreds of loyal delis and farm shops.

“However, we have wanted to extend our reach and offer our products online for some time, and working with Amazon is allowing us to do this in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible.”
