Homage2Fromage typically runs all-you-can-eat events across the UK in London, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, and elsewhere that attract thousands of customers every month, but with COVID-19 cancelling those events for the foreseeable future, it has looked to reach its customers in new innovative ways.
“As with lots of businesses we’ve been adversely affected by Covid-19, but this has given us an opportunity to develop and launch a cheese box that brings the Homage2Fromage experience to your home,” says Nick Copland, co-founder Homage2Fromage. “This isn’t just another box of cheese. This is a way to discover some of the finest cheeses in the world in the safety of your own home and test your cheesy knowledge too.”
Co-founder Vickie Rogerson tells Speciality Food that Homage2Fromate has sold out of the weekly boxes for the next three weeks. “We are testing how it works, but our aim is to increase the availability of the box with more on offer every week.”
Each kit comes packed with eight portions of cheese for two or four people, plus crackers and chutney, a Big Cheese trivia game, and the cheese tasting notes hidden in an envelope.
The cheeses included vary slightly from week to week with options from both the UK and Europe, and in the future, Vickie says Homage2Fromage hopes to introduce weekly themes. For now, the focus is on lending cheese producers a helping hand. “We want to help producers out if they are struggling to sell their stock. Just get in touch with us.”
