IFE lifts the lid on vegan plans for 2022

IFE has announced a partnership with The Vegan Society, which will see it create a platform for suppliers to showcase plant-based and vegan products, provide tastings and network with buyers.

The introduction of the new vegan section to the show reflects the strong growth of the plant-based sector and IFE’s commitment to showcasing the food industry’s biggest trends. “Consumers are more aware than ever of the origins of their food and its environmental impact, as fresh ingredients, home-cooking and buying local become more prevalent than ever, and we wanted to reflect that shift on the show floor,” said event manager Nicola Woods. “As always, the show is striving to respond to consumer trends and to cater for tomorrow’s supermarket shelves and restaurant menus.”

IFE is set to take place from 28th February to 2nd March 2022 at ExCeL London after Montgomery Group made the decision to postpone the 2021 event due to Covid-19.

“The Vegan Society is thrilled to be partnering with IFE in 2022 and we can’t wait to see the new vegan and plant-based section there,” added Ericka Durgahee, business development marketing manager at The Vegan Society. “We’ll be helping brands to highlight their vegan product labelling in the ever-growing market.”

Ashwin Ahuja, founder and CEO at Karma Bites, which secured listings in Ocado and Planet Organic for its vegan-friendly popped lotus seed snacks at IFE 2019, said the new dedicated area will help plant-based brands like itself be even more successful at future events.
