The Homemade Curing Kit… Bacon was officially launched at the Autumn Fair and received rave reviews from top industry buyers. It was launched to the public on 1st October 2014 and was immediately a big hit.

Ross & Ross Food recently won not only the BBC Bursary Award but also the Midlands Best Street Food Award in the BBC Good Food Show and were Finalists for Best Local Producer at the Cotswold Life Awards. The company currently supplies their award winning pate and terrines to the likes of Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Daylesford Organic as well as a number of top quality fine food stores and delis around the country.

Ross Bearman, co-founder of Ross & Ross Food, said: “We are really excited about this kit, and it looks like the public is too. There is such a huge trend at the moment for all kinds of DIY culinary processes, like making your own cheeses and wines, and when we realised that nobody was doing anything with this in the charcuterie sector we knew we had to! Ross Whitmill, co-founder of Ross & Ross Food, said: “We experimented with lots of different recipes and finally decided on this one, as it produces bacon that tastes amazing and has a really good texture to it as well. We also decided to go with a dry cure, which is different to the way many producers make their bacon, as we thought it was much truer to bacon’s artisan roots. Just make sure you use good pork!”

Between them, Ross and Ross have over 30 years’ worth of experience in the food industry. The pair met whilst opening two gastro style pubs for the Peach Pubs Company, an exciting and innovative food company. They gained their experience with fine food from the likes of Raymond Blanc and Paxton & Whitfield. They founded Ross & Ross Food together three years ago.
