Essential organic Fairtrade Tahini is a paste made from finely-ground sesame seeds that is easy to digest and provides a balanced supply of energy and nutrients.

It is made from hulled or unhulled seeds, with the latter being richer in vitamins and minerals and with a darker colour and stronger flavour. They are sourced from the Del Campo co-operative in Nicaragua – a farmer-owned co-operative which enables small scale farmers to gain economic return on high quality sesame seeds in a guaranteed, supportive market place.

Furthermore, the Fairtrade guarantee enables co-op members to bring investment opportunities, training courses, a health clinic and better nutrition to their local community. Tahini is commonly used to make hummus, or can be spread onto toasted bread and served with honey or miso. It’s also delicious spread onto crackers and added to dips and sauces.
