The actor’s ‘Muldoon’s Picnic’ (a crumbly Lancashire cheese), will be acknowledged at a ceremony in the Cardiff’s National Museum, this Friday. He also produces a range of artisan cheeses from the creamy ‘How’s Yer Father’, to the tasty ‘Mouth Almighty’.
“It’s great to be recognised with an award so early in my cheese-making career and I’m really excited about coming to Cardiff - meeting up with fellow producers and sampling the best cheeses in the country,” says Mr Wilson.
The capital city will be better-known as ‘cheese central’ this weekend (26th to 27th September) when the Great British Cheese Festival returns with over 400 sheep, cow, goat and even buffalo cheeses.
Numerous samples, fine foods and artisan wines, ciders and beers sourced from across the country will help entice visitors from all over the world.
Attendees can find the right tipple to accompany their cheese with tastings and demonstrations, such as ‘Grappling With The Grape’ or take part in classes on starting their own cheese-making venture.
The Great British Cheese Festival is now recognised as one of the world’s most unmissable events in a new book, due for release this October, by tourism publisher, Frommer’s.
