Get your free copyThe Progressive Food Company’s new Foresta brand includes chanterelle, shiitake, porcini and a mixed forest mushroom, packed in 25g bags.
The mushrooms are 100% natural, have a two year ambient shelf life and can be merchandised in the pack thanks to the accompanying wood-effect tray.
James Green, a partner in the business, said, “We have been developing the Foresta range of mushrooms for the past 12 months. Our extensive research indicated that whilst there is a growing interest by UK consumers in natural forest produce – thanks in part to TV chefs such as Michel Roux Jr and Antonio Carluccio advocating the use of forest mushrooms in recipe dishes – the potential sales of dried wild mushrooms through most retail outlets are not being maximised.”
The range is geared specifically towards the UK’s fine food sector, and is available from a number of national distributors.
