It has a grading, washing and packhouse facility, allowing the company to control every aspect of the production cycle, from growing the potatoes to packing them.
Robert Strathern, who runs Fairfields Farm Crisps with his wife Laura, said, “The new factory has meant we can improve production output dramatically. The logistical advantages of having the potatoes grown, stored and cooked on our farm makes the whole process easier to control. More importantly, it enables us to provide our customers with the consistency of product and service they demand, in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
