Food Bloggers Enjoy Introduction To Retail

  • The UK Food Bloggers Association gave its members the opportunity to test-drive their food with an introduction to the retail world

A UK first, the Food Bloggers Stall took center stage at The Covent Garden Real Food Market in London, last week.

“Bloggers now have the chance to literally put their money where their mouth is,” says Julia Parsons, president of the UK Food Bloggers Association.

“Many of the bloggers are looking to set up some form of food business full-time, so this stall is a good way of seeing whether their idea is commercially viable,” she explains.

The stall, which will now be running every Thursday until the 6th August, works on a rotation basis to guarantee a different blogger-business is in residence each week.

“The stall is a tangible platform for aspiring food entrepreneurs to meet each other and potential customers,” says Ms Parsons.

“Those on the stall will also be ‘twittering’ their progress online, creating a circular narrative that shares fun and informative perspectives about the speciality food industry on an ongoing basis,” says Ms Parsons.

The UK Food Bloggers Association (UKFBA) was set up in 2007 by Julia Parsons to provide a network for the growing number of British food bloggers. It enables anyone, anywhere, to find out what’s happening in the world of food from those passionate about having their fingers permanently on the pulse.

Food bloggers looking to promote their food at the stall over the next three months include: More Tea Vicar,  From a North London Kitchen, The Ginger Gourmand, Gastrogeek, Kavey Eats, Teanamu and MsMarmiteLover.
