First Cotswolds Distillery Opens

Daniel Szor, founder, works with three distillers – including head distiller, Alex Davies – to combine tradition with modern techniques. The distillery is one of only five English distilleries producing whisky, and plans to produce 150,000 bottles of whisky and 100,000 bottles of brandy, gin and other white spirits each year.

Cotswolds Dry Gin will be available to stock from September this year, and the distillery’s whisky will be sold from September 2017 due to a minimum ageing period of three years. Pre-orders and reservations are accepted.

Dan Szor, founder said, “My ambition was to not only create world-class spirits with true provenance but to build the most beautiful distillery in the UK.

“Our unique and picturesque location, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Cotswolds, our state of the art equipment, along with a highly experienced and passionate team is really allowing my dreams to become reality.”

Alex Davies, head distiller said, “With our Cotswolds Dry Gin First Edition release imminent, we didn’t want to create just another gin on the market and so, with our focus on wild, locally-sourced, unique Cotswolds botanicals, we’re creating a gin with a purpose.

“A gin that represents the Cotswolds, a place of true beauty and food heritage.”
