  • The Soil Association will run a series of events across the country aimed at producers and growers willing to make the switch to organic.

These events, organised for the second consecutive year, aim at providing information for those tempted to go organic in the face of the growing demand for such products. Subjects discussed will include the principles of organic farming, converting a farm, how veterinary treatments fit with organic farming, the grants that can be obtained and the market opportunities.

Jim Twine, commercial director for the Soil Association, says, “These events are a great opportunity for all producers to get an insight into the key elements of organic farming and growing – at a time when the UK organic market is growing so dynamically. A range of practical speakers will provide an overview of the market, the grants available, as well as sharing their own farm experience of best practice and some of the mistakes they have made.”

The next event will take place at Wincanton Racecourse on Wednesday 30th May. Tickets are available through the Soil Association and cost £10, including lunch. To find other location call 01179 142448.
