This includes hampers, Christmas gift sets and the store’s own-label jams, marmalades, chutneys and pâtés. Fenwick has been spread over three floors in York’s Coppergate Centre for over 25 years and is one of 11 department stores in the Fenwick group’s portfolio.
Chris Garnett, owner of Hunters of Helmsley, said: “It’s great that Fenwick will now be stocking some of our key products. Many people in Yorkshire know the quality of our brand from visits to the town, but it’s fantastic that York’s shoppers will now be able to sample our products too.”
“We are very proud of our range – from unusual gift ideas to some really delicious locally produced preserves. We feel it is very important that Yorkshire brands support each other, which is why we stock so many local products. The region has some of the best food and shopping in the country, and it’s time we shouted about it!” he adds.
Fenwick is one of many department stores to venture into food and drink retailing in a bid to expand their customer base. In September Fords of Oakham in Leicestershire joined forces with speciality drink retailer, The Rutland Tea Company to offer a wide range of speciality tea products.
Neil Setterfield, store director at Fenwick in York, commented: “We’re delighted to be associated with Hunters of Helmsley. This collaboration will enhance our Christmas gift offerings and allow the people of York the opportunity to sample fantastic products from a quality brand.”
