Get your free copyFrom September 2012 to March 2013 the roadshow will be visiting seven regional venues across the UK.
At each event, a team of industry judges will assess products and present gold, silver or bronze awards, which recipients can then use to promote their products and generate publicity for their businesses.
There will be ten categories, all focused on pork products. They include sausage, pork pie, bacon, pork burgers, black pudding and ready meals.
Keith Fisher, BPEX butchery and product development manager, said, “We are delighted to embark on our ninth season of roadshows. They continue to be a real highlight to our calendar, giving the industry a chance to network and of course, rewarding butchers whose pork products stand out in terms of quality, excellence and innovation.
“The results of the last tour were impressive, with some 1500 products evaluated. An immense amount of press coverage was generated for the award winners, who tell us that it has an immediate and positive impact on sales. We look forward to continuing this throughout 2012 and into 2013,” he added.
