Paul Sullivan, sales and marketing director at Wadworth brewery said, “There has been growth in the beer industry over the last few years let alone the last 6 months, but new breweries are opening up driven by both the demand for new and interesting products and support by government tax cuts. This is excellent for the drinker and the industry as a whole as more people find beer more interesting.
“Beer volumes are moving from mainstream products to more local products with heritage and provenance. This is making the industry more attractive to drinkers who now find beer more approachable and are able to drink across and understand the category. The consumer education on beer coupled with provenance and lower alcohol when compared to other drinks categories is keep beer buoyant and driving sales.”
