The direct-to-consumer site, Mighty Small, aims to support challenger brands without existing e-commerce to “unlock new opportunities online and access new consumers”. The e-commerce platform is set to help SMEs rejuvinate sales, boost cashflow and grow categories.
With food and drink businesses impacted by the Coronoavirus, many see the opportunities available by switching focus to online sales. The Mighty Small website was built within days to offer brands positive commercial and operational terms, including quick payment terms and cost-effective storage options with control over stock volumes. Young Foodies will manage supply and facilitate all operations on behalf of brands signed up.
The site will launch to consumers on 15th April and home delivery services will initially be available in London, with a nationwide rollout to follow.
Theadora Alexander, co-founder of Young Foodies, says, “Mighty Small is not just an online supermarket, it’s the result of SMEs coming together to buy into an exciting new concept for the benefit of all. Few businesses are as agile and open to change as challengers and Young Foodies is incredibly proud to make this happen. It forms part of our wider #MakeaDifference campaign to support independent brands throughout the Coronavirus crisis.”
