  • The milestone is confirmation of the business’s commitment to employee welfare
Dalter Alimentari Spa awarded gender equality certification

As a company of the DalterFood Group from Emilia, Italy, and a leader in the production, cutting and packing of Parmigiano Reggiano and other hard cheeses, Dalter Alimentari Spa has run a number of initiatives to support the welfare of its employees in 2024, and has now been awarded Uni/Pdr 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification.

Andrea Guidi, general manager at the Group, said, “We are very proud of this result. It is an important milestone, yet at the same time it is a crucial step on the journey that we all want to take together to keep improving our company and working environment: we are committed every day to promoting initiatives that help with employee welfare, through training programmes and policies to support the balance between private life and work life as well as parenthood.”

These initiatives demonstrate the company’s bold commitment to keeping a fair, inclusive working environment that respects differences, and have included sessions which every member of staff have attended, such as a course on inclusive language.

These ran alongside measures which were already in place at the company to encourage healthy work-life balances, including smart working and flexible start and finish times. Dalter Alimentari Spa also offers baby bonuses and cash payments for all new parents.

Further evidence of the business’s commitment to equality is the creation of a Gender Equality Steering Commitee. This group, which contains the company’s general manager as well as representatives for various professional figures, has been tasked with creating and implementing a strategic gender equality plan.

“Gender equality is not just an ethical principle, but also a key factor for our Group’s success: we firmly believe that a diverse team, where every member can freely express their talent, will lead to better decisions and, consequently, better results”, continues Mr Guidi. “Over the next few years, we therefore intend to work hard with initiatives to support inclusion at the company, which will allow us to make Dalter, as well as our community, a better place”.
