The Pelagonia Range

Aivar from Pelagonia is a delicious meze made from naturally sweet roasted red peppers.

It’s the star of our meze range which also includes Luteniza (spicy red pepper meze), Malidzano (smoky aubergine) and Pindjur (roasted pepper and tomato).

We make Aivar with our whole sweet roasted romano peppers which makes it a perfect partner for salty cheeses such as Pecarino, Parmesan or Feta.

Aivar and our other mezes also work brilliantly with BBQ, sandwiches, flatbreads or served on a meze sharing board.

Featured in several nationwide food publications, Crumbs Magazine described Aivar as ‘A red concoction that has a smooth but slightly chunky texture – to the untrained eye, it looks rather like a jar of creamy red pesto –  we devoured an entire jar of Pelagonia aivar on its own with a spoon – it was that good and addictive – and then polished off the second jar with pita and hummus’
