The Froggatt family is launching a new Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Sunflower Oil this year. It joins the Just Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil currently produced on their farm in Staffordshire.
The oil has developed a loyal following due to its naturally high Omega 3 and low saturated fat content. It’s high smoke point also makes it suitable for various types of cooking. The ‘bright sunshine yellow’ colour is naturally produced and has received a number of awards, including overall winner of the Heart of England Fine Food Diamond Award for Taste in 2008, a Gold star for its mustard ginger and chilli salad dressing/marinade in 2008 and another in 2009 for its mayonnaise with lemon zest.
Publicised by chefs and nutritionists, some consumers are already using rapeseed oil as an alternative to olive.
