Summerdown Mint

This range of peppermint chocolates is truly different.

We use the pure English mint that your grandparents and great grandparents would have known – a taste that has been lost for generations.

During the last fifteen years, Summerdown has reintroduced traditional Black Mitcham peppermint to this country, relearning lost farming skills from America and combining them with the latest technology at our farm in the foothills of the Hampshire downs.

After harvest, the mint leaves are taken to our purpose-built distillery. The result is a rare single-estate peppermint oil, with consistent quality and a soft, lingering taste. It has a cooler, more intense flavour and scent than other varieties.

As a result, it’s no surprise at all that our chocolates have won so many awards. Bright, fresh and aromatic, this is a very different taste from the harsher, blended, imported peppermint of the past 60 years.
