The Snowdonia Cheese Company, in Rhyl, produces a unique-tasting smoked cheddar, using beechwood smoke.
Michael Mort, business development manager for Snowdonia Cheese Company, has said, “The smoked Cheddar has become a very popular addition to our range of cheeses, it is a product people had been asking us to produce for years.
“Sustainable beechwood is used during the smoking process to give it a point of difference, which lends a more subtle flavour. It combines really well with the mature Cheddar flavour and we’ve had some great feedback since it was released on 1st April.”
“It’s only for the delis and farm shops across the country and is available through all the suppliers and all the wholesalers, who have been very interested as well,” he added.
