New Barbados Sugar Brand

The sugar has been developed in partnership with the Government of Barbados to help ensure the survival of the sugar industry on the island.

Naturally coarser and lighter than other cane sugars, Plantation Reserve is cut at the height of the Barbados growing season with less than one in every 100 canes making the grade. It has a natural taste and aroma that allows consumers to use it more sparingly and is perfect in tea, coffee, or on seasonal fruits and cereals.

Chris Docherty, managing director of brand owner, the Barbados-based West Indies Sugar & Trading Company (Wistco), says, \“Our research shows that consumers want a sugar that is as good as the high quality tea and coffee they buy and are now ready to start thinking differently about sugar in the same way that attitudes to salt and olive oil have changed in the last decade.\”

\“With a taste and aroma that we believe is a cut above the rest, many shoppers will want to trade up when presented with Plantation Reserve’s premium offer.\”

Plantation Reserve is being exclusively distributed by Leathams 020 7635 4096, a fine food importer and distributor to the retail and restaurant trade, and is presented in beautiful silver tins, which will retail from £3.99. For further information visit www.plantationreserve.co.bb
