During the last decade, Summerdown has reintroduced pure English mint – traditional Black Mitcham peppermint – to this country, relearning lost farming skills from America and combining them with the latest technology at its farm in the foothills of the Hampshire downs.  When the mint fields have been harvested, the leaves are taken to their purposebuilt distillery. The result is a rare, single estate peppermint oil, with consistent quality and a soft, lingering taste. It has a cooler, more intense flavour and scent than other imported varieties. This oil is used to make Summerdown’s delicious Chocolate Peppermint Creams and Chocolate Mint Crisps and to infuse its dried peppermint leaves, giving the Peppermint Tea an aromatic flavour that is truly unique and different. There is also a
new product in the range – Peppermint Travel Sweets – mint lozenges packed in a tin, which are delightfully cool and refreshing.
