Last year saw Gran Stead’s Ginger Co unveil awardwinning new branding and add Blackcurrant with Zing to its range of soft drinks
The strong new look, plus new-launch, enables retailers to fully target the growing adult soft drinks market. An enthusiastic response greeted the new branding, which has already earned the Sussex-based firm a “gold” in the prestigious Harpers Design Awards 2013 for Mellow Ginger (formerly Dark & Mellow Ginger Wine).
In addition to new Blackcurrant with Zing, the range comprises Mellow Ginger (a Great Taste Award regional winner); Fiery Ginger (formerly Light & Fiery Ginger Wine, with ginger extract and chilli for a real kick); Still Lemonade, and Still Lemonade with Zing (both Great Taste award winners and made with 13% Sicilian lemons).
All drinks are free from artificial preservatives, flavourings and sweeteners, and Gran Stead’s Fiery Reduced Sugar Ginger Drink taps into consumer demand for lower calorie drinks, with 40% less sugar (and twice the ginger) of its sister product Mellow Ginger. “Many people are tired of fizzy drinks and are seeking something sophisticated and traditional,” says MD Chris Knox, who runs the company with wife Rosemary.
“We know there is demand for grown-up soft drinks that look and taste great and our new-look range answers this call. Blackcurrant with Zing further offers consumers something different from the norm.”
