A new range of nine, high-fruit (up to 90%) ‘Extra Special Condiments’ are available for retailers courtesy of Uncle Roy’s Comestible Concoctions; Hot Raspberry Sauce (with Chilli); Spicy Redcurrant Sauce (with Horseradish) and Appley Mint Sauce (without vinegar) to name but a few. Putting boredom on a back seat, the chunky fruit pieces of tart red cherry, pineapple, lemon, lime, blackcurrant and mango are already being praised by consumers for the twist they give foods such as toast and ice cream as well as complementing conventional options of cheese, fish and meats.
Smart art-deco labels on 195ml coloured hexagonal jars makes them a shoo-in with experimental consumers. And with an RRP of £2.55 it’s easy to see why delicatessens, food halls, butchers and grocers are showing a keen interest too.
