Appleby Creamery took the Best Small Producer & reserve overall Best Product at the Cumbria Life Food & Drink awards.

The awards evening held at Kendal College brought together the wealth of Cumbria’s renowned producers, celebrating the very best in food and drink from the region. Appleby Creamery beat off stiff opposition from a host of Cumbria’s finest food and drink creators and was also thrilled to receive reserve Best Overall Product for the Eden Valley Organic Brie.

Having already received 2 GOLD Champion awards for their renowned soft cheese Eden Valley Organic Brie and its lightly smoked counterpart Eden Smokie in the ‘Taste Cumbria’ produce awards this confirmed Appleby Creamery as being at the forefront of Cumbria’s speciality food industry.

Maurice Walton along with co-owners and fellow cheese makers Alan Mandle and Bob Parmley who together have 80 years’ cheese making experience were delighted to receive the award “ This is truly fantastic for Appleby Creamy” said Maurice Walton, “Our success in winning this, is testament to our dedicated small team and their pursuit of excellence in creating our extraordinary fine cheese. My hope is for this award to mark the start of an exciting year ahead for us and our wonderful cheese”.
