Chinese Speciality Teas

Newby Speciality Chinese Teas acknowledge the depth and diverse range of wonderful teas. Prime season loose leaf teas are processed using traditional methods which have been passed down through the generations.

Oolong from Fujian province, one of China’s oldest tea-producing areas is renowned for its exceptional fragrance and sweet aftertaste.

Silver Needle is a rare white tea, made from the leaf buds or ‘tips’ of the tea bush. Tiny white hairs give the tea its silver velvet appearance. On infusion, the needle-shaped leaves yield pale and sweet liquor.

Jasmine Lotus is an “artisan” ball of fragrant, jasmine-scented, green tea rolled and tied by hand encasing a pink amaranth: on infusion the flower is revealed as the tea leaves open out to resemble a lotus blossom.

To preserve the freshness of these speciality teas, they are packed in ‘window’ cartons. The photograph window enables the customer to appreciate the distinctive visual aspects of each tea without exposing the leaves to the light.
