Barbers 1833

Barber’s is the oldest cheesemaker in the UK, with over 180 years of experience making cheese at Maryland Farm in Ditcheat.

As guardians and producers of traditional starter cultures that were once widely used, Barbers can claim that its cheeses has a totally unique flavour and character.

Barber’s 1833 is matured for a minimum of 24 months to provide the Cheddar with powerful intensity, complexity and depth of flavour. It has a slightly brittle and crunchy texture – a result of its long and slow ageing.

Look out for Barber’s 1833 Vintage Reserve Cheddar, available in a 190g wedge or a 1.2kg block for your deli counter.
