A number of familiar brands exhibited at the event, including Luscombe Drinks, Diverse Fine Food, Lovington’s Ice Cream, Chunk of Devon, Good Fame, A David & Co, Abbotts (S.W.) Ltd, J & R Foodservice, Qtos Catering Equipment, Pubstuff, T Quality and Elizabeth Shaw Confectionery.
The show was also a great route to market for the 22 Newcomers who exhibited at the show, new companies from the South West such as Gin Jar, Beyond Sauce, Frandie Macaron, Beyond Sauce and Sweet Cumin which had never done a trade show before.
Visitor numbers were up by 10 per cent, with visitors attending from the local area and further afield from independent food retailers, pubs and hotels to tourist attractions and holiday parks.
Hale Events, organisers of the show, found in their post-show survery that 70 per cent of visitors found at least three new suppliers, with 62 per cent placing orders at or shortly after the event.
Mike Anderson, director of Hale Events, organisers of the event, said, “There was a real buzz on site this year throughout the two days! We were so pleased that such a lot of business was conducted; not only between buyers and exhibitors, but also amongst the companies taking part.
“Highlights for me included the new demo theatre stage, which was a really great enhancement, and the number of Newcomers, offering buyers something unique and different.”
