  • Organiser Fresh RM has announced that Speciality & Fine Food Fair London 2008 (SFFF) is moving from the National Hall to the Grand Hall at Olympia. The move is just one of a number of exciting new initiatives for the exhibition and marks the latest chapter in the rise and rise of the show considered by fine food buyers and producers to be the premier event in the UK.

Event Director Paul MacDonald explains that the Grand Hall will enhance the visitor and exhibitor experience, “Our small producer exhibitors have supported the show since its launch in 2000, over which period many of their businesses have grown significantly. We can now offer these businesses the opportunity to take the extended presence they are requesting. Visitors will benefit too; the much loved marketplace atmosphere will be enhanced by wider aisles and larger visitor attractions and it will be even easier to locate suppliers now that the show will be laid out on one level.”

Jo Murphy, Events Manager at SFFF07 exhibitor East Midlands Fine Foods approves of the plans for SFFF08, “In our experience The Speciality & Fine Food Fair ticks all the boxes for speciality food companies and the move to the Grand Hall and the new floorplan layout are very positive developments. We can rely on the show to attract top quality buyers while always retaining its friendly atmosphere and 2008 will be no different in that respect. We’re looking forward to the best show yet.”

Taking place on 7-9 September, the fair will also see the launch of two new sections. The Speciality Chocolate Fair, a dedicated platform designed to bring chocolatiers and buyers together; and Speciality Services which will showcase non-food exhibitors providing services such as packaging and design. Both new sections are launched in response to industry demand and broaden the appeal of the show for buyers and suppliers.

In addition to the new sections the larger hall enables visitor attractions the Fine Food Forum and Small Business Forum to be made twenty-five percent bigger. Standing room only in previous years, the newly designed theatres will enable many more visitors access to the knowledge, skill, flair and excitement they expect from these popular attractions. The Grand Hall move also allows Fresh RM to design an innovative new layout for the show. The Fine Food Forum will take centre stage, a new wide central boulevard aisle has been added and stand configuration improved to make the visitor experience even more enjoyable.

Angie and Angus, Owners of MacFarlane’s Cheese Shop & Delicatessen, Clapham visited the show in 2007 and are excited about the prospect of the 2008 event. An enthusiastic Angie explains, “For us SFFF London is the most important and valuable show to visit and has been fantastic over the last few years but the introduction of the Speciality Chocolate Fair and the arrangement of the show on one level makes it even more enticing. It’s an enjoyable show to visit but most importantly an opportunity to meet great suppliers new and old.”

Space on the new floorplan is filling up fast but there are still stands available. If you are interested in exhibiting at SFFF08 then please call Ian Field on 020 7886 3061. Full information regarding SFFF08 can be found at www.specialityandfinefoodfairs.co.uk
