Caoire Blakemore, fine foods commercial director said, “We’ve invested heavily in our infrastructure, and now have our own warehouse with an on-site management team. As a result of this, retailers will see a change in the service they receive – for example, there’ll be fewer issues when it comes to products which haven’t been barcoded properly. Also, we’re now able to stockhold more products that we’ve been able to in the past, which means that our service level will be even higher than our standard 95 per cent.
“The most exciting element of the revamp is our new online ordering portal element of our website. We’ll be hosting tutorials at the Farm Shop & Deli Show in April. It’s based on online ordering systems from the likes of Amazon, so there’s a shopping basket and history tab, and retailers can search through products using search terms and categories. Each product has a link to the producer, so buyers can learn the story behind what they’re purchasing. Also, a postcode search means that retailers can search for local producers.”
“The core focus of all these changes is to improve efficiencies and better serve our customers and producers, therefore enabling us all to grow our respective businesses collaboratively. This is just the start of the new and improved Blakemore Fine Foods and reflects the company’s commitment to both the sector and the Great British producers that we work with.”
