Relish Producer Wins Gold Award

The jelly, produced by Cumbria-based Hawkshead Relish, is made with locally gathered Lyth Valley Damsons, fresh basil leaves and apples.

The judges described it as ‘a wonderful marriage of Cumbrian and Mediterranean flavours’, and is one of the newest additions to the company’s range of over 120 preserves.

Kate Nicholson, sales marketing manager for Hawkshead Relish, said, “This is a really special award and means a great deal as it recognises local Cumbrian producers. It is so important to Hawkshead Relish to be a part of the Cumbrian community.”

Mark Whitehead, managing director for the company, added, “I am truly honoured that this product has been recognised in this way and especially in Cumbria, where we have so many acclaimed producers who create artisan food celebrated nationally. This is really special!”
