The two-day show takes place at the fashionable Old Billingsgate Market in central London, and opens from 10:30am to 8pm on 26th September and 10am to 5pm on 27th September.
As well as covering food, drinks, and ingredients, the lunch! menu will also include equipment, furniture, packaging, and all other products integral to running a successful business. Marketed as a total business event, with demonstrations, competitions and inspirational seminars, the “Working lunch!” seminar programme has been developed in close consultation with The British Sandwich Association and includes a number of top industry names. Jim Winship, director of The British Sandwich Association says, “We are putting our support behind lunch! because we believe the concept is absolutely right for the market.”
Another highlight of the show, is the live heats and final of the first ever British Smoothie Championships. Taking place on the first day of the show – Friday 26th September, the championship finals will give the UK’s 12 leading baristas the chance to win the title of the “best in the business.” It’s live, it’s fast and furious, and it promises to be great fun!
Also to be announced on Friday 26th September are the winners of the prestigious new lunch! Retailer of the Year Awards 2008. Set to become the annual benchmark for success in this dynamic industry, the judges have been overwhelmed by the quality of the entries across the three categories (multiple, independent and contract catering), from companies such as Marks & Spencer, Camden Food, BB’s and SoHo Sandwich Company, Elior, Restaurant Associates, Mitie and Olive Catering and a host of fantastic independents ranging from big names like Selfridges to some fabulous local retailers.
