New Bee-Friendly Honey From Rosebud Preserves

17 August 2015, 15:25 PM
  • Yorkshire-based Rosebud Preserves has added a Yorkshire Honey to its range of jams, chutneys and preserves

The clear honey has been sourced from hives in North Yorkshire, and made by bees which have collected nectar from wild blossoms that include sycamore, lime and water balsam which gives the honey a subtle floral flavours. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust will receive a donation toward its work with every jar sold.

The honey follows the business’s principles to source local produce wherever possible and practice time-honoured techniques without the use of additives, preservatives or pectin.

Elspeth Biltoft, owner of Rosebud Preserves said, “We’ve been wanting to launch a honey for our customers to enjoy as we have some great examples here in North Yorkshire. I’m passionate in particular about nature and bio diversity. We use a lot of locally grown fruit and vegetables in our products and protecting this natural environment is extremely important to us.

“For some time I’ve wanted to introduce a product that we could sell to support the bumblebees and other pollinators. Our contributions to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust from the sales of this honey is the first of what I hope will be a range of products that we can do this with. I hope our customers enjoy it as it’s a really tasty honey to savour on toast, to sweeten hot drinks or even to cook with.”
