Minimum Wage Concerns at Windsor Estate Farm Shop

The living wage – based on the amount an employee has to earn to cover basic living costs – is currently £8.80 per hour in London and £7.65 per hour outside of London, but pay for the new roles stand at £6.55 per hour. This is above the minimum wage.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said, “We do research on competitive salaries in the premier retail sector and the salary offered here matches the market median.”

The statement also said that staff also received progressive salaries, free lunches and a 15 per cent non-contributory pension.
