Microbreweries Boost Beer Sector

According to a report by SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers), last year sales of beer increased by 1.7 per cent to 1.55m barrels – 33m more pints than in 2012.

The sector recruited for 900 new jobs in the sector – a clear sign of an industry growing in strength – following significant investment from SIBA members.

This growth has been linked to Chancellor George Osborne ending the beer duty escalator last year.
