More international ingredients’ companies, manufacturers and experts took part than previous years, with exhibitors coming from China, Portugal, Thailand and many other countries.
In addition to the exhibition, 400 speakers covered wide-ranging topics such as nutrition for health and wellbeing, reformulating ingredients, sustainable food business, packaging design and strategic marketing solutions.
The content programme focused on some of the most hotly contested issues to affect the food and drink industry this year. Industry speakers were keen to voice their opinions on the impact of Brexit and the UK government’s decision to introduce a sugar tax on carbonated soft drinks, combined with an obesity strategy.
Briony Mansell-Lewis, Food Matters Live director said, “Food Matters Live pleased thousands of visitors last week, many of whom attended to find answers to a range of issues and to see first hand the latest innovations shaping the future of food and drink.
“Our priority now is to build on the success of last week’s event and to work closely with exhibitors, speakers, visitors and supporters to make Food Matters Live 2017 even better with further international appeal.”
