Igd Scholarships Encourage Next Generation

“It is so important to invest in leaders of the future and we believe that the course gives students and businesses the expertise needed to succeed,” says Joanne Denney-Finch, chief executive of IGD.

Marking its centenary year, the scheme is recognised as IGD’s leading management qualification and validated by the University of Edinburgh. 

“Our heritage is in training and development and, in our centenary year, we are proud to offer this unique opportunity for industry professionals to broaden their understanding of the whole food and grocery chain,” says Ms Denney-Finch.

The scholarship is aimed at ambitious individuals who work in any part of the food and grocery chain, including small and medium-sized businesses. Applications from those working in farming and agricultural sectors are also welcomed.

The course, which consists of five compulsory units and an optional extra, will be completed in one year.

“We hope to encourage applicants from across the whole supply chain,” says Ms Denney-Finch.

“The course focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to progress in the industry and allows candidates to bring their learning into the workplace. It also gives them the opportunity to network with others from across the food and grocery chain,” she adds.

Applications close on 30th June. Winners will be announced in August.
