- The Theale-based shop were awarded at the Berkshire & Buckinghamshire Life Food Awards, in recognition of their largely regionally-sourced products
The event saw 200 guests, finalists and sponsors gather at Ascot Racecourse to celebrate the stars of the region’s food and drink industry. Nominations were made by residents of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, adding a personal touch to the proceedings. Manageress, Jo Fielder said, “We were nominated by our customers for this, not by the industry, which makes this all the more special.”
Ms Fielder had originally been invited to judge and present an award in another category. “Having presented an award early on in the evening, the last words I expected to hear later on were ‘and the winner is Fielders Farm Shop’ in the Best Farm Shop category!’. We have been nominated for similar awards on a few occasions in the past but never made it through, so this was wholly unexpected and we are absolutely delighted.”
Fielders Farm Shop sources over 80% of its produce locally and regionally, the other 20% being made up from British produce and a few imports.
