Stephen Procter of Greenfields Dairy Products Ltd said, “The haul of silverware has arrived back in Lancashire after our Greenfields Crumbly Lancashire Cheese was crowned the Supreme Champion winning the National Westminster Cup, as well as Best UK Cheeses, The Haughmond Trophy champion farmhouse/traditional hard pressed territiorial cheese, The Farmhouse Cheesemakers Trophy – Lancashire, and the Ted Hassall Memorial Trophy for the champion farmhouse/traditional cheese – five trophies in all!
“We are a small, family-run cheesemakers based in Goosnargh near Preston and we have been exhibiting cheese at Nantwich for over 40 years. We have won many other first prizes and trophies in previous years, but this is the first time we have ever won The Supreme Championship. The cheese show entries seem to increase year on year and this year there were 4611 entries from 31 countries worldwide, so we are obviously very proud of our achievement.”
