Rob Haward, operations director at Riverford called the multiples’ business models “financially redundant” and criticised them for pushing up prices by rejecting irregular shaped vegetables.
Additionally, Isobel Davies, who runs Farmaround delivery scheme, told the Telegraph, “It’s cheaper to get a box of vegetables delivered directly to your door. Not only is the produce less expensive, but you also save on petrol.”
