The 14th edition of the awards have been organised in order to showcase the people and organisations working hard to produce and sell good quality British food.

Eleven categories will be explored, including Best Food Producer, Best Drinks Producer, Best Local Food Retailer and Best Food Market. Judges include Raymond Blanc, Valentine Warner, Richard Corrigan, Victoria Moore, Pete Brown and Charles Campion.

The winners will be announced on 1st May in Bristol, as the start of a 10-day, city-wide food festival.

Business can nominate themselves or encourage customers to send in a nomination from 5 January via www.bbc.co.uk/foodawards. Nominations close at midnight on 27th January.

Raymond Blanc said, “Each year I’m impressed by the growing number of producers from cheese makers to bakers, drinks to charcuterie, all working at such a high level, and as important are the farm shops, markets and delis who are connection with more and more customers. These awards attract millions of radio and television viewers and so it’s fantastic recognition for people doing outstanding work”.
