  • The Fine Cheese Co, sponsors of the 'Best New Deli Award' at The British Cheese Awards is inviting retailers to enter their farm shop, delicatessen or cheese shop for this award that recognises dedication and excellence
    in the promotion of British cheese.

In an increasingly food-conscious world, the discerning customer is choosing to buy food from respected sources.
Cheese lovers are certainly no exception. The award offers those retailers that have a fantastic British cheese
selection the opportunity to highlight both their range and their company to cheese-lovers through the excellent PR
generated by The Awards, The Festival and both The Cheese Awards & The Fine Cheese Co websites.

We are privileged to have a vast selection of Artisan British Cheese now available and this Award has been
created to recognise and reward new, independent cheese retailers who promote these wonderful cheeses with
flair and passion. So if you have a great Cheese Counter and your shop has been open less than two years, why
not shout about it?

What You Need to Know
Comments Ann-Marie Dyas at the Fine Cheese Co, “The more information we have about how you serve and display your cheeses the more likely you are to win! However, we are not looking for the next David Bailey - so no videos, CD-Roms etc. Just quick, clear snaps showing how you present your cheese and any back-up material you may have.”

What the Judges Are Looking For:
The following are some of the key elements the judges are looking for:
Breadth of selection
Local selection offered
Information provided to customers
Display & Presentation of the cheese counter
Range of cheese accompaniments offered (i.e. wines, crackers, pickles etc)
Rules & Information
Open to independent cheese retailers trading for No More than two years
Entry to be submitted by person(s) responsible for buying, serving & presentation of cheese
Cheese selection submitted must be a regular feature of your establishment
Photos of how you present and serve your cheese must be included
Judges’ decision is final
Previous winners not eligible to re-enter
Closing date 1st September 2007
Finalists will be notified on Wednesday 5th September
The winner will be announced Friday 28th September at the British Cheese Awards dinner.
